Wisp - We Miss You

Wisp is an IDM artist from New York. We Miss You is his second and latest release since signing to Rephlex.

Absolutely incredible IDM. This is on seriously heavy rotation at the moment. Makes me feel all happy and nostalgic. Across the album you'll find everything between breakcore and ambient, yet it all manages to flow beautifully. Really top tier electronic work here, keep finding myself replaying it over and over again.

Track 4, To Draw Something Beautiful. One of my favourite tracks on the album. Others being Morning Myth, Lords & Ladies, Trees Like Toys and... I better leave it at that before I end up listing the whole tracklist. Enjoy.

Welder - Vines & Stream

Brandan Angelides aka Welder (also known as dubstep artist Eskmo) is a San Fransico based producer/artist. Vines & Stream is his debut album under the pseudonym.

Very laid back and very uplifting downtempo IDM, full of head-bopping beats, slightly psychedelic tones and world music samples. One to check out. Stand out tracks include "Purple and Orange", "In The Park" and "Find You Here".

Nosaj Thing - Drift

Nosaj Thing is an electronic musician and producer bringing it hard in the LA "glitch-hop" scene alongside artists like Flying Lotus.

This is on heavy rotation with me right now. Incredible electronic soundscapes, hard beats and an overall dark sound comparable to the likes of Burial and the rest of the dubstep scene mixed in with bleeping and blooping like something straight from your favourite IDM artist's library. This is absolutely stellar - scoop this.

Reso - Discography

I don't have loads to say on Reso right now other than that he is THE FUCKING MAN in the dubstep scene. Do yourself a favour if you're even slightly interested in the genre and scoop this.

Not featured here are a tracks from compliations/splits.

Plaid - Greedy Baby

Electronic music duo Plaid and visual artist Bob Jaroc. Music by Plaid, art by Bob Jaroc.

To fully appreciate this you've got to watch the DVD segment of this release with Bob Jaroc's visual art, but the music alone is still fantastic. Not Plaids best, but worth checking out. Like I said, the real gems come from watching the DVD. So go buy it.

Dr. Strangeloop - Are We Lost Mammals of an Approaching Transcendental Epoch?

Dr. Strangeloop is a visual artist associated with the likes of Flying Lotus and the rest of the Brainfeeder roster.

A single 17 minute track ep/single. I'm not really sure how to describe this... Post-rock for the space age maybe? I don't know. Just listen to it. Check out the video below for a preview and an example of his incredible visual art.

Clark - Totems Flare

First off, happy new year everybody! I think this years been great for music and to celebrate I'll upload one of my favourites from 2009 - Clark's (formerly Chris Clark) latest release, Totems Flare.

Complex, glitchy and heavily layered. Totems Flare commonly bounces around the walls between breakcore, chiptune and ambient soundscapes - and usually within the same song. Not exactly the easiest piece of music to digest, but give it a few spins and hopefully it'll grow on you as much as it has with me. For fans of Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Plaid.

Happy freaking new year!x
